Acceptance and Use of the Website
Use of this website implies full acceptance of these terms, as well as our privacy policy, which forms part of this document. We reserve the right to update, suspend, or discontinue any section or feature of the site at any time.
You may use the website for informational, educational, and legitimate commercial purposes related to our services. If you are using the site on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms on its behalf.
+03
Prohibited Conduct
You may not use the website for any illegal or fraudulent activities, or activities that infringe on the rights of third parties; attempt to gain unauthorized access to restricted areas, other people’s accounts, or associated systems; introduce malicious code; or interfere with the operation of the site or the security measures in place.
Furthermore, automated mass extraction of content (scraping), the systematic copying of our texts or resources, and the resale or redistribution of any part of the site without our written authorization are not permitted.
+04
User Accounts
Some features require you to create an account: commenting on the blog and accessing the full content of the Digital Marketing Glossary. By registering, you agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information and to keep your login credentials confidential.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs through your account. If you detect any unauthorized use, please notify us immediately. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, exhibit suspicious activity, or were created using false information. You can request that your account be closed by contacting us at any time.
+05
User Comments and Content
The comments section is a space for professional discussion. Offensive, discriminatory, defamatory, or misleading content; unsolicited promotional material (spam); third-party personal information; and material that infringes on intellectual property rights are not permitted.
Comments may be subject to moderation before being published and may be edited, unpublished, or deleted at our discretion, especially when reported by other users. Moderation does not imply that we endorse or verify the opinions expressed.
When you post a comment, you retain ownership of your content and grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store, and reproduce it on this website and on our own media where we reference the posted content.
+06
Digital Marketing Glossary
The Glossary is a free educational resource. The public preview can be accessed without registration; the full content requires an account and active access, which we provide free of charge to those who register.
Access is personal. Sharing login credentials, automating the download of content, mass reproduction, or republishing the content in whole or in part in other media without written authorization is not permitted. Brief quotations with attribution and a link to the original page are welcome.
The Glossary is intended for educational purposes. The definitions reflect industry practices at the time of writing and may change as platforms and technologies evolve.
+07
Newsletter and Communications
Subscription to the newsletter is voluntary and requires that you provide us with your email address. We send out editorial content, resources, and news from the agency.
You can cancel your subscription at any time by clicking the link included in each email or by contacting us directly. Regardless of your subscription status, we may send you operational communications related to your account, your comments, or a request you have submitted to us.
+08
Forms and Requests for Proposals
The contact and request-for-proposal forms are intended to initiate a business conversation. Submitting a form does not create a contractual relationship or obligate either party to enter into a contract.
All services provided by Alterno Agency are formalized through a specific proposal or agreement, with the scope, deliverables, timelines, and fees documented separately. The information you share in these forms is treated as confidential.
+09
Jobs and Talent Pool
The Jobs section allows you to voluntarily share your professional profile for consideration for positions, projects, internships, or professional services. Submitting your information does not guarantee an interview, an offer, a job, or an immediate response, and does not create an employment or contractual relationship.
We may keep your profile on file to consider future opportunities and contact you when we identify a potential match. It is your responsibility to provide accurate information and to have permission to include the work, links, and portfolio materials you submit.
Alterno Agency is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate each individual based on their talent, experience, and abilities, without discriminating on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other category protected by law.
+10
Intellectual Property
The texts, articles, glossary definitions, photographs, illustrations, videos, designs, code, and structure of this website are the property of Alterno Agency or are used with permission, and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
The name and logos of Alterno Agency are our own trademarks and may not be used without written permission. The trademarks, logos, and names of clients, platforms, or third parties that appear on the site belong to their respective owners and are displayed for informational, reference, or portfolio purposes.
The work presented in the "Projects" section is shown as an example of our professional work; the trademark rights for each client remain with the client.
+11
Third-Party Links and Services
The website includes links to external websites and uses third-party services for functions such as analytics, ad tracking, email delivery, automatic translation into English, anti-spam verification, and hosting.
We do not control the content or privacy practices of these third parties and are not responsible for them. We recommend that you review their terms and policies when you interact with their services.
The English version of the site is generated using machine translation powered by artificial intelligence. Although we review the content, the Spanish version is the official one and takes precedence in the event of any discrepancies.
+12
Informational content, not professional advice
The content of the blog, the Glossary, and the services pages is published for informational and educational purposes. It does not constitute legal, accounting, or financial advice, nor does it guarantee specific marketing or advertising results.
The results of any strategy depend on multiple factors beyond our control, including the market, budget, competition, platforms, and the business’s own decisions. Each organization should consult its advisors as appropriate.
+13
Availability and Limitation of Liability
We work to keep the website available, secure, and up to date, but we do not guarantee that it will operate without interruption or errors. There may be interruptions due to maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control.
To the extent permitted by law, the Alterno Agency shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use this website, from reliance on its content, or from content posted by others in the comments section.
+14
Applicable Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Any dispute arising from the use of this website shall be submitted to the courts with jurisdiction in Puerto Rico.
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
+15
Changes to these terms
We may modify these Terms and Conditions to reflect changes in our practices, website features, or applicable regulations. Any updates will be posted on this page along with their effective date.
Continued use of the website after an update constitutes acceptance of the current version. Last updated: September 24, 2026.

Information We Collect
Information You Provide: We collect personally identifiable information only when you voluntarily share it. This may include your name, email address, phone number, company, job title, industry, estimated budget, how you heard about Alterno Agency, and the message you enter when filling out a contact form, requesting a proposal, subscribing to the newsletter, creating an account, commenting on the blog, or suggesting a term for the Glossary.
Candidate Information: If you use the Jobs section, we may collect your location, languages, experience, professional categories, tools, availability, work arrangements, optional rate, resume, portfolio, professional links, and any comments you choose to share.
Your account information: If you register, we store your email address, the public name you choose, your communication preferences, the consents you provide, and a record of the access privileges we have granted you (for example, comments and the Glossary).
Automatic Information: We automatically collect non-identifiable data such as IP address, browser and device type, language, approximate location based on IP address, pages visited, time spent on the site, referral source, and browsing behavior.
+03
How We Use the Information
We use the information to respond to your requests and prepare proposals; to understand where our contacts come from; to evaluate candidates for positions, internships, projects, and future collaborations; set up and manage your account and its access permissions; publish and moderate comments; send the newsletter and communications you have requested; operate and improve the website, its content, and its performance; measure the effectiveness of our marketing and advertising campaigns; and protect the site against fraud, spam, and abuse.
We do not use your information for purposes other than those described here without first informing you. We do not sell your personal information.
+04
Legal Basis for Processing and Consent
We process your information with your consent (for example, when you submit a form, accept cookies, or subscribe), to fulfill your requests, and based on our legitimate interest in operating, protecting, and improving the website.
When consent is the basis for data processing, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to the request.
+05
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
A cookie is a small file stored in your browser that allows us to recognize your visit and remember your preferences. We use cookies that are necessary for the site to function and to keep you logged in; analytics cookies to understand how the website is used; and ad measurement technologies to evaluate the performance of our campaigns.
The cookies we use do not access files or personal information stored on your device. You can configure your browser to accept, reject, or delete cookies, and you can choose how to respond to the cookie notice we display when you visit the site. If you disable certain cookies, some features—such as maintaining your session—may not work properly.
+06
Who We Share Information With
We do not share your personal information with unauthorized third parties. We may share data, to the extent necessary, with trusted vendors who assist us with the technical operation of the site: hosting and infrastructure, private storage and backup of resumes and portfolios, databases and authentication, sending transactional emails and newsletters, web analytics, advertising platforms, website translation, and spam protection.
These providers process the information in accordance with our instructions and under confidentiality and security obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of the site and its users.
+07
Storage and Transfers
The information is stored on infrastructure provided by vendors who may operate servers in the United States and other jurisdictions. By using the website, you agree that your information may be processed and stored outside your country of residence, provided that reasonable safeguards are in place.
+08
Retention of Information
We retain the information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and to comply with legal, accounting, or rights-defense obligations.
As a general guideline: contact and proposal requests are retained for as long as a business relationship or interest exists; profiles, resumes, and portfolios in the talent pool are retained as long as they may be relevant to current or future opportunities, unless you request their deletion; account data, as long as the account is active; published comments, as long as they remain on the site; newsletter subscriptions, until you unsubscribe; and analytical data, according to the retention periods of the measurement platforms.
You can request that your information be deleted at any time, unless we are required to retain it due to a legal obligation.
+09
Information Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or improper disclosure: encrypted connections, role-based access controls, database-level security rules, and form validations.
No system is completely foolproof. If an incident were to occur that significantly affects your information, we will act promptly and provide notification as appropriate.
+10
Your Rights and How to Exercise Them
You can request access to the information we have about you, request that it be corrected or updated, request that it be deleted, and opt out of our communications. You can also object to certain uses or withdraw your consent.
To exercise any of these rights, please email us at from the email address associated with your account, or contact us by phone. We may request additional information to verify your identity before processing your request, and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
To unsubscribe from the newsletter, you can simply click the link at the bottom of each email.
+11
Accounts, profiles, and public content
If you create an account to post comments or access the Glossary, the public name you choose and the content of your comments will be visible to all visitors. Your email address will not be published.
We recommend that you do not include sensitive personal information in comments or suggestions. You can request that a comment or your account be deleted by contacting us.
+12
Minors
This website is intended for professionals, companies, and individuals with a professional or academic interest in marketing and advertising. We do not intentionally collect information from children under the age of 13, nor do we create accounts for them.
If we discover that we have received information from a minor without the consent of their parent or guardian, we will delete it. If you believe this has happened, please contact us and we will address the situation.
+13
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices, the technology we use, or applicable regulations. Any updates will be posted on this page along with their effective date.
We recommend that you review it periodically. Last updated: September 24, 2026.
